If you take a look at any successful blogger, you will begin to notice that they all have something in common: they know how to monetize on their passion.

make money blogging

Believe it or not, only around 14% of bloggers earn a salary by doing so.

It’s not just about putting entertaining content out into the universe, either.

A successful blogger needs to know not only how to promote their work, but how to build a blog as well as an entire brand they can then market to sell products.

3 Successful Bloggers

Let’s take a look at 3 bloggers who have managed to turn their blogs into successful business ventures, and figure out how they are capitalizing from it.

Abby earns money through affiliate income.

Affiliate income is an increasingly popular tactic that bloggers use to earn some extra cash on the side. The concept is simple, too.

They partner up with a program and endorse it to their readers. Should anyone sign up for the product under the blogger’s recommendation, the blogger receives a portion of the profits. Sounds great, doesn’t it?

Some great examples of affiliate marketing programs are as follows:
Bluehost
Elegant Themes
Aweber

Justin earns money through ad sales

Ad sales are similar in nature to affiliate programs, but differ in one dramatic way: it doesn’t matter whether or not the person buys the product being promoted so long as you promote it.

There are so many amazing opportunities out there for bloggers who want to sell a little bit of space on their site, and you don’t have to look very far to find them.

Nathan earns money through selling online classes

Something rather interesting happens once you gain enough of an online following. After a certain point, you start to gain a bit of a reputation in your niche, and you come with some authority. You can be considered an ‘expert’ on something, and people will pay money to learn from you.

That’s where online classes come into play. Many bloggers are making their own webinars to teach their audience in a more in-depth way than their blogging ever possibly could.

If this would interest you, it can be pretty tough to get started and I suggest reading up on a few online ‘how to’s’ on the subject so you can become comfortable with it before you venture out and try to make a profit.
